I am acquainted with no spirit so strong, pure, and beautiful. Every line sparkles with empyrean fire, so that it is difficult to make a selection. I will, however, notice 'The Two Voices' [...] In this poem the tempter to despair is furnished with his best weapons, and foiled though armed cap-a-pie.'"'
