Evidence: | 'When I arrived home for tea that evening she asked as if I felt hungry. I replied, yes, and went on reading the paper, "Here is a piece of bread and butter for you to go on with" she said. A most unusual thing for her to say as we had not yet sat down to tea. I did not take much notice and went on reading, but she again reminded me of it and I thought "Ah ! she wants me to try a new kind of bread, or butter", so I ate it critically.' |
