| Evidence: | 'And so to the Chapel and there saw, among other things, Sir H. Wottons stone, with this Epitaph -
"Hic Jacet primus hujus Sententiae Author.
Disputandi pruritus fit ecclesiae scabies."
But unfortunately, the word "Author" was wrong writ, and now so basely altered, that it disgraces the stone.' |
