Evidence: | 'By leave of the Colonial Office I have obtained copies of a MS journal, never published or edited, kept by Jas Hastie, the Civil Agent of Governor Farquhar at the court of Radama I. from 1817-1828. The authorities of the Record office have detained the copy a few days in order to authorize them. & I think the Journal would make (with editing) a good book.' |
