Martin was the author of "Histoire de France: depuis les temps les plus reculesjusqu'en 1789", pub. by Furne: Paris, in several editions and numerous vols from 1833, notably the 4th edition in 16 vols plus index from 1861-65. An abridgment in seven volumes was published in 1867. The continuation, "Histoire de France depuis 1789 jusqu'a nos jours" appeared in 6 vols, 1878-1883).
