Title of book is given in Editor's notes; he cites this as the most likely book to which Carlyle refers, and that he would have been reading an advance copy (unsure whether print or mauscript), but says that it is also possible (though unlikely) that he refers to "Letters on the Bankrupt Laws to E B Sugden Esq", published 1829.
