Evidence: | 'He became especially interested in Shelley [and felt he could hear his 'music' in the Dunsden area] The "music" which he heard must have been that of "The Revolt of Islam", for he discovered in January 1912 from a biography of Shelley that "The Revolt" had been composed in a boat "under the beech groves" not far away. This poem was to remain in his mind for the rest of his life, providing him with the theme and title of 'Strange Meeting' in 1918'. |
